Gerry Sont

Gerry didn’t become NIDA’s head of TV presenting by accident. With multiple roles as a TV presenter and game show host, Gerry is one of the mainstays of the Australian entertainment industry with over 30 years of experience.

Gerry has graced the screens of most of the household TV shows of the last 3 decades from The Young Doctors and A Country Practice to Home and Away, Chances, and All Saints. In 1984 he starred in the title role of Melvin Son of Alvin, a popular Australian feature film with international release and more recently performed in Superman Returns. Gerry studied under the famous Uta Hagen in New York as well as back home in Australia under some of nation’s best teachers including Dean Carey, Nick Enright and Kevin Jackson.
